Please share why you decided to become a professional esthetician. I have over 8+ years of customer service experience working in the healthcare field. I plan to incorporate my knowledge of servicing others, attentiveness to detail, passion for technical training, and love of natural beauty aesthetics within my business venture.
Please share why you decided to start your own professional esthetician business: EarthTone Beauty came to life as a future spa business and a brand lifestyle. I want to incorporate inner beauty, confidence, and wellness into the fold. As people worldwide learn to heal their minds, bodies, and soul, I want to create products that bring forth physical and mental consciousness with sensational scents and effective skincare evolution. Inner and outer beauty should be an important aspect of one’s life.
Thinking about how you first launched your business, please share how you got your business off the ground. During my time at school, our final project was a business proposal project that we had to create actual business plans to include , building location, Mission statement, financial forecasting and marketing strategies. This project made it very promising that a career as an Esthetician would be possible and very successful!
How do you set your business apart from other businesses that provide professional estheticians services in your area? EarthTone Beauty is a luxury spa experience catering to various skin types using a combination of plant and science-based ingredients, including technology, restoring the skin to its natural beauty.
How did you market your business when it was brand new? I began with casual conversation about my business and used social media to begin promoting myself as a licensed Esthetician.
How do you market your business now that it’s established? I believe that as you represent any business or company. You should become a business advertisement for the brand. I have connected with like minded individuals in authentic spaces to share my business and esthetics backgrounds with others.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their business? I think being an entrepreneur is more than “making money.” You have to be mentally and financially prepared. It is important to set a budget, especially if you are using your own money to start a business initially. Write down everything you want for your business, and as you research the cost of an item, ingredients, or service, add your “working time,” profits v losses, merchant services, branding photoshoot, reading materials, paper products, etc. It can be overwhelming, but having a timeline and pacing yourself is important. You won’t become rich overnight, but the entrepreneurship journey is worth the reward. When you have an idea for a business, find your target audience and figure out what marketing techniques work best for you! Overall, the last two years have not been easy, but as I learn, I am grateful to help others!
What qualities do you think every entrepreneur should possess? The number quality is confidence, believe in yourself, encourage yourself and be positive about your own business. Never compare yourself to what someone else has, stay motivated within your own goals.
What motivates you to work hard? I embrace longevity for my business, “slow and steady wins the race.” I want to have a long lasting career with esthetics and evolve my business into an educational platform to help the future business leaders emerge with all the right tools to successfully grow their company.
